Kathleen O'Grady

Kathleen O'Grady, 78, of Dover, died Tuesday, December 15, 2009, in Union Hospital, following a long illness.

Born, Christmas Day, 1930, in Boston, MA, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna Whalen Powers. Kathleen was a loving homemaker, and her greatest pleasure in life were her grandchildren. She made her home in South Boston for many years before moving to Satsuma, FL in the mid-1980's. She relocated to Dover in 2006.

Kathleen was a long-time member of Gate of Heaven Church in Boston, and was presently a member of St. Joseph Church in Dover.

Survivors include two daughters, Joan (William) Smith of Oviedo, FL, and Julie (Grant) Dean of Somerdale; two sons, John F. (Debra) O'Grady of Duxbury, MA, and Donald O'Grady of Dover; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Barbara Duggan and Joan Powers; four brothers, Jack, Joe, James and Donald Powers; many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 18, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Joseph Church with Fr. Matthew N. Hoover officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery.
