Julie L. Yackey

Julie L. Yackey, 56, of Dover, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from a suspected pulmonary embolism.

Born on March 27, 1970, in Dover, she was a daughter of Aletha Parsons Jacobs of Arizona and the late Paul Jacobs.

A 1988 graduate of Garaway High School, Julie went on to earn her Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University. She began her professional journey at Village Drug in Sugarcreek and spent the last ten years serving her community as a pharmacist at Drug Mart in Dover. Above all, Julie was a devoted and caring mother who cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. She found joy in American history and loved traveling to her favorite destinations, including Las Vegas, The Meadows in Pennsylvania, and Northfield Park in Cleveland.

In addition to her mother, Julie is survived by her children, Zackery Yackey of Dover and Joshua (Marie) Yackey of New Philadelphia; her sisters, Robbee (Larry) Wheeler of Strasburg and Dena Glasser of Dover; her grandchildren, Ella Yackey, Octavia Atkins, Roland Yackey; several nieces and nephews, and her loyal companion, Zeus.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover.
