Julie A. LaBrake, 73, of Dover, and formerly of Newark, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Park Village Health Care Center at Dover following an extended illness.

Born on May 16, 1953, in Massena, New York, Julie was the daughter of the late Milton and Alice Young Scott. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard LaBrake on August 13, 2021.

Julie retired in 2002 from Shepherd Hill Hospital in Newark after 18 years of dedicated service. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover, she found joy in her faith and community. She was an avid sports fan, proudly rooting for the New York Yankees and Notre Dame football. Above all, Julie cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved to spoil with their favorite treats during visits. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, often filling her home with warmth and delicious aromas. She was known for her selfless spirit and compassionate heart, always willing to help anyone in need and consistently going above and beyond to support others.

She is survived by her sons: Scott (Becky) LaBrake of Grove City, Jan-Michael (Mary) LaBrake of Dover, and Bryan (Cara Copeland) LaBrake of Arizona; her sisters, Diane (Phil) Brown and Nancy Rowland, both of New York; her brother, Jay (Patsy) Scott of Texas; and her cherished grandchildren, Sophia, Morgan, Aiden, Erin, Desmond, Eowyn, Gideon, and Dominic.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover, with Fr. Jimmy Hatfield officiating. A funeral luncheon will follow in the St. Joseph's Family Life Center.

Memorial contributions may be made in Julie’s memory to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr Ste E, Uniontown, Ohio 44685.
