Juliannette Boman, 64, of Dover passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 at her home following a brief illness.

Education played a vital role in Juliannette's life. She graduated from Cupertino High School in California before earning her bachelor's degree from San Francisco State University. Determined to further enrich her knowledge and teaching skills, Juliannette obtained a master's degree from Simmons College in Massachusetts. This dedication to lifelong learning exemplified her commitment to personal growth and excellence.  She began her teaching career at Weymouth Elementary School in Massachusetts, where she dedicated herself to shaping young minds for many years. Her passion for education led her to Dover, where she became a substitute teacher for Dover City Schools until illness forced her retirement. Juliannette's commitment to her students went beyond the classroom as she positively impacted their lives through her inspiring teaching methods and caring nature.

Juliannette was admired for her warm and lively personality. Known for her infectious laugh and radiant charisma, she had an incredible ability to make everyone around her feel welcome and valued. Her friendly and outgoing nature allowed her to forge meaningful connections with those she encountered throughout life's journey.

One of Juliannette's greatest joys came from exploring new horizons during leisurely walks around the neighborhood. On these strolls, she relished meeting new people and engaging in pleasant conversations. Her genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross paths with her.

An accomplished artist, Juliannette possessed an extraordinary talent for painting. Her artistic endeavors were recognized and celebrated at the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts where she frequently showcased her creations. In addition to this, Juliannette selflessly volunteered her time and energy at the Little Theater and the Kent State Performing Arts Center, contributing to the vibrant cultural scene of the community she called home.

Juliannette will be deeply missed by her surviving family and friends. She leaves behind her daughter, Samantha Boman of Dover, who will forever cherish the love and guidance received from her devoted mother. Juliannette is also survived by her former husband, Mark Boman of Massachusetts, and her special friend, Steve.   She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Matzinger.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover.  Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
