Josephine I. “Jo” Myers, 94, of Dover, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover.
Born on October 7, 1931, in Bethlehem Township, Coshocton County, Jo was the daughter of the late Earl H. and Sylvia (Preston) Shepler.
On April 18, 1954, Jo married the love of her life, James G. (Jim) “Mouse” Myers. The two shared 63 years of marriage before Jerry preceded her in death on August 19, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Harvey (Dorothy) Shepler and Donald (Ruth) Shepler, and her sister, Dorothy (Tom) Moyer.
Jo took great pride serving as a bus driver for Dover City Schools for 18 years before retiring. She was a beloved figure among the students and colleagues long after her retirement. She was an active member of the Church of New Hope in Dover and a proud participant in the Brandywine Grange. She also served as the County Deputy for many years. She was a 4-H advisor for many years. Her commitment to community service and fellowship was evident in all she did.
She loved square dancing—often with Jim at her side—and she cherished the many dances they enjoyed together. She was a member of the Silver Sneakers at the YMCA, where she made many friends throughout the years. Jo and Jim spent over 15 years traveling with family and friends, including numerous bus groups. Their travels took them to Alaska, Lake Louise, the Canadian Rockies, and Hawaii.
Jo leaves behind her children: Cindy Jo (John) Dickey of Dover, Timothy J. (Lorie) Myers of Uhrichsville; six grandchildren, Nicole (Bill) DeLong, Mikala (Nick) Harding, Kasie (Joe) Seldenright, Cole (Kali) Myers, Emily (Joe) Wilson, and Ashley Dickey, along with thirteen great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 11:00-1:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1:00 pm with Pastor Dan Legg officiating. Entombment will be in the Garden of Peace Mausoleum at Dover Burial Park. A meal will be served at the Monarch Center following the service.
