John H. Elifritz

January 27, 1933 — November 30, 2013

John H. Elifritz, 80, of Dover went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Hennis Care Centre in Dover. John suffered from dementia for a number of years. His daughter, Tracy and Ex-wife, Ruby were at his bedside when he passed.

Born on January 27, 1933 in Canton, he was the son of the late Boyd and Mildred Ashworth Elifritz. He attended Conotton Valley High School. John honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He later retired from Hunts Valve in Salem, Ohio where he was a welder for over 17 years. He enjoyed working on cars with his free time.

John married Ruby Keener in Indian, Pa on July 19, 1954.

He will be missed by his seven sons; Boyd Elifritz of Lake Milton, Curtis (Joy) Elifritz of Metropolis, IL, Gregory (Sherry) Elifritz of Dover, Wesley (Donna) Elifritz of Youngstown, Bryan Elifritz of New Philadelphia, Philip (Patty) Elifritz of New Philadelphia, Leland (Beth) Elifritz of Salem; his daughter, Tracy (John) Zeigler of New Philadelphia; several grandchildren including Zoe and Vanessa Zeigler of New Philadelphia; four brothers, Ray (Dolly) Elifritz of Columbus, IN, Jim (Norma) Elifritz of Leavittsville, Ohio, Bob Elifritz (companion, Loretta) of Canton, Dale Elifritz of Canton; and his sisters, Loretta (Ronnie) Hupp of Tennessee, Colleen Bymiller of Carrollton, Cynthia Strawder of Carrollton.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his son; Warland Elifritz; daughter Peggy Morris; two brothers, Donald and William Elifritz; and his sister, Genny Shuman.
