Joanne M. Sullie, a dedicated registered nurse who devoted her life to helping others, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the age of 87.

Born on September 29, 1937 in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Julius and Mary Gyurgyovics Sullie. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Sullie, Helen Cheslock; brothers, Paul and Carl Sullie.

She was a 1955 graduate of St. Joseph High School and received her bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Psychology from the University of Akron. Joanne's compassionate spirit and commitment to her profession left a lasting impact on the lives of many she cared for during her long career at Summa Health Care in Akron, from which she retired after many years of exemplary service. Joanne was known not only for her professional dedication but also for her role as the cornerstone of support for her family. Many turned to her for medical advice. She was always there to lend a helping hand, especially when it came to taking care of her parents and her sister, embodying a selfless nature that will be deeply missed. In her free time, Joanne found joy in reading and tending to her garden. She was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover.

Joanne is survived by her nieces, Laura (Jeff) Spray of Akron and Brenda Cheslock of New Philadelphia; her nephew, Mike Cheslock of Columbus; her brother-in-law, Richard Cheslock of New Philadelphia; as well as three great nephews and four great-great-nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
