Jane E. Anderson Williams

March 20, 1948 — August 21, 2024

Dover

Jane E. Anderson Williams, age 76, of Dover, died peacefully early Wednesday morning, August 21, 2024, in her home, with her family at her side.

Born at East Liverpool, O, on March 20, 1948, Jane was a daughter of James and Dorothy Hill Anderson.

During high school, Jane met and fell in love with her classmate, William E. “Bill” Williams. The couple graduated in 1966 from East Liverpool High School, and on March 23, 1968, were married by Bill’s father, who was pastor of the former Pennsylvania Avenue United Methodist Church at East Liverpool.

Jane graduated from the Aultman College of Nursing and joined her new husband abroad in Germany while Bill served in the US Army. Jane was quickly put to work in the US base hospital there, and for the next fifty-four years – she’d work as an RN, at The Ohio State University Medical Center while Bill completed his degree in accounting, then in Chicago, Houston, Pittsburgh, and ultimately at Country Club Retirement Centre at Dover, then at Park Village in Dover, and finally retiring in 2016, from Great Trail Care Center at Minerva.

Jane was a loving and attentive wife and mother, who went on to treasure time spent traveling to her grandson’s sporting and school activities. She lived her faith with various United Methodist congregations across half a dozen communities as her family relocated over the years. Jane’s family vacationed together, and being together with her daughter, son, and grandson brought her great joy.

Survivors include Jane’s daughter, Katherine “Katie” (Eli)Saba, and a son, Jonathan “Jon” (Kristin) Williams, both of New Philadelphia.

She’ll be sadly missed by her grandson, Austin Williams, as well as her brothers; James (Linda) Anderson of New Bern, NC, William (Kathy) Anderson of Chesterfield, VA. her sisters-in-law Janice (Donald) Frischkorn of Iowa, Myra (Greg) Lingle of Troy, O., Merry Williams of Florida, Charlotte McCree of Hubbard, O,; brothers-in-law Thomas (Gay) Williams of Jennison, MI, Randall (Sandra) Williams, of Cambridge, O., many nieces, nephews and extended family members, and her special friend, Bette Jane Parrish, of New Philadelphia, completes her family.

Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill, on December 6, 2002. In addition to her parents, Jane is preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, the Rev. Arthur and Vida Williams, a brother-in-law, Dr. Stanley Willaims, foster-brother’s-in-law Henrich Kuehn and Ulrich Jedel, and her nephew, Aaron Williams.

As Jane transitioned from this place – she was met at Rainbow Bridge by several pet dogs and cats.

Friends are invited to call Monday, August 26th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the the Toland Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover. A service celebrating Jane’s life will be held on Tuesday, starting at 11:00 am at the Dover funeral home. Burial, alongside husband Bill, will follow, in Dover Burial Park.

Following the committal service, all are invited to join the family for a funeral luncheon in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home Reception Center at the Strasburg location.

Memorial Contributions should be made to the Corolla Wild Horse Fund, 1130E Corolla Village Rd. Corolla, NC 27927. Jane was fond of their work, protecting and preserving the wild horses that run the banks of the Atlantic Ocean on the outer banks of North Carolina. Jane was thrilled to have both seen the horses in their habitat, and visiting the rescued at the Betsty Dowdy Equine Center in Grandy, North Carolina, where she was able to connect with the famous Raymond, the wild mule.
