Jane Diane Spurlock, age 81, of Dover, Ohio passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025.
Jane was born in the Bellaire Ohio Hospital on November 27, 1943, to the late Edwin and Velma (Fry) McMillen. She was raised in Neffs, Ohio, and graduated from Bellaire High School in the class of 1961. After graduating from high school, she worked for a short time at Sears in Wheeling, West Virginia. A co-worker introduced Jane to her future husband, DJ (David Joe) Spurlock, and they remained married for 56 years, raising one child, David Joe Spurlock Jr.
Jane was a proud mother who taught Sunday School at the Masiah Lutheran Church in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. She was involved in almost every aspect of her son’s education and moral upbringing.
Along with her parents, Jane is preceded in death by her brother, Donald, and (his first and second wife, Trudy and Reva) McMillen; her sister, Maxine (Bob) Weatherford; and her brother-in-law, Olle C.(Sue) Spurlock Jr.
