James L. “Jim” McNutt, Sr., 68, of Dover, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, in Union Hospital, Dover, following a long illness.
Born May 3, 1934, in Greens Run, Athens County, he was a son of the late Edward and Florence Johnson McNutt. Jim served honorably in the U.S. Army. He retired as a truck driver from Baker Hi-Way Express, Dover. Jim was also a member of Teamsters Local 92, Canton.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Seward McNutt, whom he married Aug. 26, 1954; two daughters, Pamela (Donavon) McDonald of Gnadenhutten, and Rebecca (Stan) Nelsen of Wadsworth; three sons, Dwight McNutt of Akron, James (Glenna) McNutt, Jr. of Wilmot, and Kenneth (Tina) McNutt of Dover; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Marsha (William) Handrich of Dover; a brother, Samuel (Beverly) McNutt also of Dover; a half-sister, Marie Young; half-brother, Kenneth Erwin; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah; a great- granddaughter, Justice; and by a brother, John McNutt.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at 10:30 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover, with Rev. Allen L. Bergmann of the First Moravian Church, Dover, officiating. Burial will be in Dover Burial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, 5 �" 8 p.m., in the funeral home.
