Born in Dennison on December 28, 1931, he was the son of the late Ray Archie and Thelma Beatrice (Barr) Swauger. He was reared by Dave and Ruth Beans.

Harold attended Midvale High School. He honorably served our country in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955.
