Gwen L. Krieg Baldwin, 81, of Dover, passed away peacefully at her home on November 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, following a long illness.
Born August 13, 1944, in Dover, Gwen was the daughter of the late Charles Marks and Sue Tatliak Vorhees. She built a dedicated and fulfilling career with the Ohio Department of Transportation, where she worked as a construction secretary for 33 years. After she retired from ODOT, she continued to share her strong work ethic and kind spirit for another 10 years at Self Storage.
Gwen was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in New Philadelphia and an active member of the New Philadelphia Elks. She was known for her warmth, sense of humor, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
A true sports enthusiast, Gwen loved cheering on her favorite teams. She rarely missed a Cleveland Cavaliers game and was also a loyal fan of the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Guardians (Indians), and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Gwen’s family and friends will remember her for her strength, kindness, and joy for life.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind her children; Todd (Theresa) Krieg of Newport, Florida, Bart Baldwin of Dover, Bret Baldwin of Dover; grandchildren, Nicole Tice, Jay Krieg, Casey Kordiac, Dillon Baldwin; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Cameron, Nathan, Tripp, and Raeylynn; great-great grandchildren, Kash, Weston, and Laiklynn; her brothers, Aaron (Kimberly) Marks of California, and Alden (Kimberly) Marks of California; her former husband, David Baldwin; along with her Wednesday night girls group, and her dog, Sage.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Paulette Marks, her former husband, Robert Krieg, and her dog, Olive.
In honoring Gwen’s wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. A private memorial service will be held for her family. To sign an online guestbook for Gwen, visit the obituary link on the funeral home’s website.
