Gregory O. Beitzel

Gregory O. “Spike” Beitzel, 73, of Dover passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026.

He was born on March 11, 1952 in Dover and was a son of the late Orin “Spike” and Nila Newmiller Beitzel. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Bryan Beitzel, and his beloved dog, Dozer.

Spike retired in 2013 from Reese Trucking in Dover after 31 years of service, and had been a truck driver for over 40 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards, especially Texas Holdem, riding his Harley, and watching The Ohio State Buckeyes, and all of the Cleveland professional teams.

He is survived by his children, Shanon “Spike” Beitzel of Dover, Brandi Beitzel of Strasburg; grandchildren, Morgan, Samantha, Jaclyn, Bryan, and Jordan.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. There are no services or calling hours.
