Gloria Ann Warner

Gloria Ann Warner, 87, of Dover, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

Born May 23, 1939, in Dover, Gloria was the daughter of the late Leonard "Dale" and Ruth (Wise) Kerr. She was a 1957 graduate of Dover High School.

Gloria married the love of her life, Jerry Warner, who died on November 11, 2024. She was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Lisa Warner, who passed away at the age of 16, and her sister, Ellen (Tom) Brundgage.

Lisa was a member of the Dover Band, and after Lisa's passing, Gloria continued to follow the Dover marching Tornadoes faithfully. What began as a way of staying connected to something her daughter loved became a cherished tradition that Gloria continued throughout the years, keeping Lisa's memory close to her heart.

Gloria worked for many years as a teacher's aide. She also worked at several local stores, including Phar-Mor and Rite-Aid, babysat, and worked at Endre's Floral.

Gloria was well known for her love of cooking and baking and for the generosity with which she shared her talents. She was a longtime member of the First Moravian Church in Dover, where she made the well-known sugar cakes for many years. At home, Gloria cooked two hot meals each day and spent countless hours making cookies and candies, which she lovingly gave away to family and friends and also sold each year.

Her kitchen was a place where love was shared through food, and caring for others was simply a part of who Gloria was. She found joy in feeding people, making treats for others, and giving of herself to those around her.

Gloria is survived by her two sons, Michael (Rachel) Warner of Sherrodsville and Jeffrey Warner (Lisa Adamich) of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Gabriel (Lynn) Warner, Amber (Greg) Smith, Stacie (Nishan) Dividian and Chance (Kary) Warner; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In honoring her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. She will be buried next to Jerry and Lisa at Dover Burial Park. To sign an online guestbook, visit the obituary link on the funeral home's website.
