Geraldine L. LaCroix

Geraldine L. VanFossen LaCroix, 92, of Dover, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Hennis Care Centre in Dover.

Born on December 14, 1933, in Strasburg, Ohio, Geraldine was the daughter of her late parents, Carl and Mae (Ross) Philabaum.

Geraldine was first married to Robert VanFossen, who preceded her in death in 1980. She later married Charles LaCroix, who preceded her in death in 1987.

She graduated from Beach City High School with the class of 1952. She retired as an apartment complex manager and had also worked for many years at Strasburg Provision. A faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover, Geraldine found great joy in her family and treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and loved ones. In her later years, she especially enjoyed traveling on cruises and making memories with those closest to her.

Geraldine is survived by her three sons, Greg (Debbie) VanFossen of Tuscarawas, Dan (Delena) VanFossen of New Philadelphia, and Bryan VanFossen of New Philadelphia; her sister, Vonda Sprunger of North Canton; and her nine grandchildren, Brandi, Jason, Nikki, Kyna, Maddie, Cortney, Zach, Ben, and Clayton. She also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her husbands, Geraldine was preceded in death by her son, Bruce VanFossen; her daughter, Barbara VanFossen; and an infant son, Tommy VanFossen.

Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Strasburg on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 5-7 pm. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 11:00 am with Father Thomas Cebula officiating. A meal will follow at the funeral home's reception facility.
