Frank Boscarillo

March 6, 1938 — December 31, 2021

Frank Boscarillo, age 83, of New Philadelphia, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021, in New Philadelphia’s Community Hospice Truman House.

Born March 6, 1938, in Cleveland, he was a son of the late Gasper and Jennie Prine Boscarello. Frank attended John Marshall High School in Cleveland, and then enlisted in the United States Navy where he served honorably for 20 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. Following his time with the Navy, he was employed by the State of Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles as a driver license examiner. Frank married the former Margaret C. Mikulec on March 1, 1962, in Cleveland’s Ascension Church. The couple raised four children and shared nearly 48 years of marriage prior to Margaret’s passing on February 28, 2010.

Faith, family and service to country were of utmost importance to Frank. He was a member of New Philadelphia’s Sacred Heart Church since moving to Tuscarawas County in 1970. Some of Frank’s favorite pastimes were cooking and baking - particularly Italian dishes, as well as pies and family birthday cakes. He also enjoyed keeping his mind sharp by working crossword puzzles.

He will be dearly missed by his two daughters, Lisa (Dale) Ickes of Croton, and Mary (Jon) Loy of Massillon; his two sons, Frank (Michele) Boscarillo Jr. of New Philadelphia, and Tom (Renee) Boscarillo of Hammondsville; his beloved friend, Josephine Cornette; his former son-in-law, Scott Deedrick; his ten grandchildren, Andrew (Jenna), Megan, Amy, Frankie and Michael Boscarillo, Brenton Ickes, Ben, Max and Brenna Deedrick, and Zeke Loy; his great-grandson, Brantley Boscarillo; and his many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and his wife, Margaret, Frank was preceded in death by his sister and three brothers.
