Frances Mary Ann Steffe

Frances Mary Ann Steffe, 92, of Strasburg, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, in her home.

Born Nov. 18, 1913, in Bolivar, she was a daughter of the late George and Louisa Franz Margo. She was a loving wife and mother, and member of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Zoar. Frances was both a Girl Scout leader and a 4-H advisor for many years. Some of her hobbies included knitting and crocheting.

Survivors include a son, Norman R. (Dana) Steffe of Strasburg; grandchildren, Courtney Shanower and Daniel Yoder; and a brother, Albert Margo of Dover. Frances is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty-four years, Robert E. Steffe in 2000; five sisters, Amelia Weaver, Bertha Calendine, Ruth and Catherine Margo, and Clara Hitchcock; four brothers, Lewis, Henry, Raymond and Paul Margo.

A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m., in the Church of the Holy Trinity, 1835 Dover-Zoar Rd. N.E., Bolivar, with Fr. Ed Keck officiating. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Strasburg. Following the committal, there will be a meal in the church. Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, 232 N. Wooster Ave., Strasburg, on Monday, Oct. 10, 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. There will be a Christian wake service Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
