Wayne Amistadi, 81, of Dover, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover.
Born May 5, 1945, he was the son of the late Raymond and Betty (Penrod) Amistadi. Wayne was a 1964 graduate of Dover High School. On June 19, 1965, he married the love of his life, Thelma May, and together they shared more than 61 years of marriage.
Wayne began working for Dover Machine Company Inc. in 1970. Through his hard work and dedication, he became the company's owner for many years before retiring.
Wayne had many interests and treasured the time he spent with family and friends. He loved attending toy shows and took great pride in his collection of model farm and construction toys. He especially enjoyed trips to Canada and Lake Erie and looked forward to pheasant hunting in the Dakotas. Wayne was a member of the Zoar Gun Club, where he held many positions, including serving as past president. He was also a life member of the Eagles and an active member of Jerusalem Church.
In addition to his loving wife, Thelma, Wayne will be deeply missed by his daughters, Lisa (Alan) Blickensderfer of Bolivar and Amy (Mic) McAfee of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Ashley (Jordan) Turek, Alyssa (Steven) Paley, and Kyle McAfee; great-grandson, T.J.; and a great-granddaughter he was joyfully expecting. He is also survived by his brothers, Wilbur Amistadi and Carl (Cindy) Amistadi, along with many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Wayne was preceded in death by his brother, Ray (Nancy) Amistadi Jr., and sister-in-law, Pearl Amistadi.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Crossroads Hospice and Park Village Health Care Center in Dover for the loving care and kindness they provided to Wayne.
