Emmett F. Roth Jr.

Emmett F. Roth Jr., 83, of Dover passed away at his home on Friday, May 30, 2025.

He was born on July 11, 1941 in Findlay, Ohio he was a son of the late Emmett F. Sr. and Christal Killinger Roth. Emmett was also preceded in death by his son, Emmett F. “Frank” Roth III; brother, John Roth; daughter in law, Rebekah Roth and infant granddaughter, Rachel Schupbach.

He proudly served his country with the United States Navy. Following his discharge, he was employed at Reeves Steel in Dover, and retired in 1992 with 30 years of service. In his spare time, Emmett loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was also a skilled knife maker.

Emmett is survived by his children, Ted Roth of Dennison; Marlene (Larry) Schupbach of Dover; grandchildren, Adam Schupbach, Amanda (James) Graves, Andrea Schupbach (Kyle Gotchal); great grandchildren, Adelaide, Liesel, Avery; brother, Larry (Donna) Roth of Gnadenhutten; sisters, Mona Ronald of Marysville, June (Carl) Squires of Strasburg; sister in law, Becky Roth of New Philadelphia; four step-children, and his beloved dog, Inky.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A service celebrating Emmett’s life will be held on Monday, June 9th starting at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center with his son, Ted Roth officiating. The family will be greeting friends at the Monarch Center one hour prior to the service on Monday.
