Ellen Jeanene Palmer (Denbow) of Dover, Ohio, passed away on March 2, 2026, following a period of declining health.
She was born in the Village of Beach Bottom, WV on August 15, 1936. She grew up there the daughter of Charles and Johnie Mae Palmer of Shoal Creek, GA. It was there that she met and married the love of her life. It was there that brought the most fond memories of what she believed to be the best era to have grown up in.
Throughout her life she enjoyed many hobbies. Camping, often taking one or more grandchildren in tow. Bowling with family and friends, and was an avid reader. Generations of families that enjoyed gathering for reunions and get togethers throughout the years.
Above all else, Ellen’s most cherished time was spent with children and grandchildren. Especially her grandchildren. They are the light of her life. She could often be caught in as many antics as the children were.
Her strength, kindness and grace she upheld through life will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Leaving nothing but love behind for them to carry on.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Johnie Mae Palmer, her husband, Clyde Lee Denbow, her son, Darrell Denbow, and her loyal and cherished 4 legged friend, Peyton.
She is survived by her children, Debra (Bill) Kliendienst, Douglas Denbow, and Dena (Michael) Short. Daughter in Law, Jackie (Longo) Denbow. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, Jason Denbow, Nicole (Matt) O’Donnell, Miranda Denbow, Haley Short and Nathan Short. As well as a great grand daughter, Riley O’Donnell and sister, Charlotte Palmer of Cannonsburg, PA.
Ellen wished to name a special friend, Nancy Damione, whose friendship she cherished.
Cremation has been entrusted to Toland Herzig Funeral Home in Dover, and Ellen wishes her ashes to be scattered at her personal cherished and most loved location at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Local Hospice effort.
