Donald D. Thomas, 94, passed away November 3, 2026, in Dover, Ohio surrounded by family and friends. He was born on January 11, 1932, in Coshocton, Ohio, the son of the late Herbert and Hazel (Mulhall) Thomas.

Donald (Don) was a 1949 graduate of Baltic High School and fell in love with woodworking at an early age. He went on to build a successful career as a carpenter where he took great pride in his work building and remodeling numerous homes throughout Tuscarawas County. In addition, in his basement workshop, he lovingly handmade furniture, salt and pepper mills, carved bowls, picture frames, candlesticks and so many more unique and meaningful items for family, friends and neighbors. A true master of his craft, Don’s workmanship and dedication left a lasting mark on the community.

Don was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in Dover and a member of the West Lafayette Masonic Lodge. On October 11, 1953, Don married June (Carpenter) Thomas at Grace Lutheran Church in Dover. Together, they shared 63 years of loving marriage until June’s passing on November 3, 2016, exactly ten years before Don. Their marriage was blessed with three sons; Brad (Erin) Thomas of Windsor, California; Scott Thomas of Henderson, Nevada; and Bill (Gina) Thomas of Cleveland, Ohio. Don is also survived by his grandchildren; Jordan (Summer) Thomas of Ventura, California and Jonah Thomas of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

In addition to his beloved wife, June, and his parents, Don was preceded in death by his siblings, James Thomas, Robert Thomas, Martha Winkelman and Norma Balzer.
