Donald E. “Don” Hopkins, age 74, of Coshocton, passed away Friday, November 4, 2022, in Altercare of Coshocton following a long illness.
Born May 20, 1948, in Coshocton, he was a son of the late Wilburn and Hazel Bradford Hopkins. Don attended Coshocton High School, and was employed as a truck driver by Hox Recycling of Millersburg for many years, which was a job he very much enjoyed.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his life-partner, Olive Blair; and his brothers, Terry, Jim and Bill Hopkins.
Don is dearly missed by his children, Jennifer Peterson of Minerva, Crystal (Eugene) Waiters of Canton, and Donald Hopkins Jr. of Coshocton; his grandchildren, Tevin (Alyssa) Burnett, Jazmyne and Octavia Hopkins, Sasha Miller, Vanessa Hopkins and Julio Bell; his eleven great-grandchildren; his sisters and brothers, Bonnie (Doug) Jones of Corning, Brenda (Jeff) Mehok of New Philadelphia, Cheryl Geltz of Strasburg, Robert (Karen) Hopkins of Dover, and David Hopkins of New Philadelphia; his many nieces and nephews; Olive Blair’s children, Darlene, Arlene, Cathy and Cheryl; and by his little dog, Katie Sue.
Cremation is under the care and direction of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. Don’s family is planning a memorial gathering in the future.
