Diana L. Patterson, age 69, a lifelong resident of Dover, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021, in Community Hospice’s Truman House.
Born January 7, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Arlette Grafe Donato. Diana graduated from Dover High School in 1970, and, on September 15, 1973, married Daniel M. “Dan” Patterson who survives. Foremost, Diana was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed by the former Bag ‘n’ Save and as a school crossing guard, both at Dover.
Diana was a member of St. Joseph Church, Dover. She adored her grandchildren, and was looking forward to the birth of her first great-grandchild, Barrett, in April of this year. Some of her favorite pastimes were reading and working crossword puzzles. Diana put others before herself, and she always had a smile.
In addition to her husband, Dan, she will be dearly missed by her daughters, Julie (Larry) Marini of Dover, and Josie (Steven) Burke of Stone Creek; her grandchildren, Bailey, Brooke, Dominic, Isabella and Jeran; her brothers, Dave Donato of Dover, Fred Donato of New Philadelphia, and John (Mary) Donato of Longboat Key, Florida; her nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, Diana was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
Cremation is under the care and direction of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. A private family committal service will be held in Dover’s St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery. To sign an online guestbook and share a fond memory of Diana, please visit the Obituaries link on the Toland-Herzig website.
