David H. Schwab

David H. Schwab, 86, of Dover passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 in the Community Hospice Truman House.



He was born on September 19, 1935 in Canton and was a son of the late Raymond and Melba Huffman Schwab. David was also preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Schwab and two sisters, Maxine Hawkins and Margaret Knoff.



He proudly served his country with the United States Army for three years. Following his discharge, he became a Letter Carrier for the Canton Post Office, having retired in 1992 after 28 years of service. David was a family man who loved being at home with his wife and sons. He also enjoyed restoring his classic Chevy, working in his flower garden and playing cards with family and friends.



David is survived by his wife, Genevieve “Gennie” Nelson Schwab; sons, Tom Schwab of Navarre, David (Michele) Schwab of Delaware; brother, Richard (Jill) Schwab of Alabama; grandchildren, Tommy, Rebecca, Christina “Oh No” Schwab; Beau and Cy Schwab; and six great grandchildren.



Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A graveside service will be held at the Dover Burial Park on Thursday, September 22nd starting at 11:00 am with Rev. Wes George officiating.
