Dale W. Bayer

Dale W. Bayer, 90, of Dover passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 in the Community Hospice Truman House.

Dale was born on July 17, 1933 in Strasburg and was a son of the late Roy and Carrie Hanni Bayer.  He was also preceded in death by three children, Gregory Bayer, Mike Bayer and Jeri Bayer Lynn; son in law, Greg Straub; brothers, Harold, Maurice and Gene Bayer; sister, Althea Schilling..

Dale was a 1951 graduate of Strasburg High School, and proudly served his country with the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Anna Mary Tawney Bayer whom he married on June 14, 1953; daughter, Dalene Straub of Bolivar; grandchildren, Ryan, Erin, Lance, Justin, Kristin; great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Kai, Logan, Maxi and Kieran.

Per Dale’s wishes, cremation will be entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover.  There will be no services or calling hours.
