Daisy Cappillo

Daisy Cappillo, 69, of Baltic Country Manor, and a long-time resident of Somerdale, died suddenly Wednesday, Jul. 9, 2003.

Born Jan. 21, 1934, in Magoffin County, KY, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Bertie Clemons Collinsworth. Daisy moved to Ohio with her family at a young age, and attended New Cumberland schools. In 1956, she married Benny Cappillo. Benny died in 1988. Daisy was a homemaker, and she loved gardening and cooking. She attended the First Baptist Church, New Philadelphia.

Survivors include a daughter, Sarah (Dave) Waldron of Somerdale; a son, Benny (Linda) Cappillo, Jr. of East Sparta; three grandchildren, Jerome, Angela and Jennifer; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rhoda (Bud) Goudy of Roswell, and Retha (Jerry) Gopp of New Philadelphia; a brother Delbert Collinsworth of Warren; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda; three sisters and seven brothers.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Jul. 12, at 11 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, New Philadelphia, with Rev. Mark Trotter officiating. Burial will be in New Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Jul. 11, 5-8 p.m., in the funeral home.
