D. Faye Phillips

D. Faye Phillips, 84, of Uhrichsville, Ohio went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 14, 2025, in her residence, surrounded by her family following an extended illness.

Born July 30, 1941, in Dennison, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Taylor and Mary (Orr) Armstrong. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Butch and Jimmy Armstrong, and her beloved husband of 59 years, Gail L. Phillips, who preceded her on August 13, 2017. They were married on September 9, 1958.

Faye was employed at the former Aberth’s Bakery in New Philadelphia and also previously worked for the former AVI Vending Company.

She was a member of the Dennison Foursquare Gospel Church, where she served the church as a custodian and a volunteer. She was also previously a cook for the homeless shelter. She will be remembered for her love and care for her grandchildren.

Faye will be sadly missed by her family including her two sons, Rodney (Susan) Phillips of Rush and Leroy (Kim) Phillips of Uhrichsville; seven grandchildren, Lukas (Angelica) Phillips, Lorna (Tyler) Waters, Logan (Rie) Phillips of Japan, Kristy (Zethan) Dickey, Natalie (Mitchell) Dennis, Nicole (Jonathan) Miller, and Nicholas (Brittany) Phillips and her sixteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Doe Vermillion, Doris Ann (John) Jobe and two brothers, Gary (Nancy) Armstrong and George (Cindy) Armstrong.

Faye’s life will be celebrated on Monday, August 18, 2025, beginning at 5:30 pm in the Dennison Foursquare Gospel Church, with her son, Pastor Rod Phillips, officiating. A private graveside service will follow in the Phillips family cemetery in Uhrichsville. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 3-5:30 pm.
