Cynthia “Cyndi” Seward, age 64, of Strasburg, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 11, 2022, in Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital enroute to the Cleveland Clinic where she was being taken after a recent illness.
Born March 19, 1957, in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Charles “Chuck” and Betty Jones Ronald. Cyndi grew up in Tuscarawas and graduated in 1975 from Indian Valley North High School. Shortly thereafter, she met the love of her life, Sam Seward, and the couple were married on August 9, 1977. Cyndi was employed by the former Allied Baltic Rubber Company of Strasburg.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Strasburg. Cyndi’s true joy was her family, particularly her grandchildren, each one was special - the apple of her eye. She enjoyed following her grandchildren’s school and sporting events, and their life paths afterward. Cyndi was fond of board games, which the family happily played for hours on end. She was a caregiver, not only for her family, but for many pets over the years - and many houseplants too.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Sam; two daughters, Samantha (Doug) Johnson and Leigh Ann Seward; her grandchildren, Molly (Justin) Rose, Kaylynn, Brock and Emily Johnson, Aubrianna and Adam Brosius; her great-granddaughter - a recent blessing, Claire Marilyn Rose; her sister, Carole Staley; her sisters-in-law, Dawn Ronald and Cindy Seward; and her brothers-in-law, Greg (Becky) and Jeff (Vicky) Seward; and her many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Cyndi was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas and Charles “Woody” Ronald; her brother-in-law, Rick Staley; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Samuel H. and Dorothy Seward.
Cyndi will be cremated through the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 14, at 1:30 p.m., in the First Lutheran Church; Pastor Jason Rissler of Strasburg’s St. John United Church of Christ will officiate. The family asks that those planning to attend dress casually and comfortably. There will be no visitation prior to the service, but there will be a reception directly afterward in the church’s social hall.
Contributions in Cyndi’s memory are suggested to First Lutheran Church, Tuscarawas County Humane Society, or Community Hospice.
