Charles E. "Chuck" Garrett

Charles E. “Chuck” Garrett, 83, of New Philadelphia passed away at his home on Friday, October 15, 2021.

Chuck was born on May 22, 1938 in New Philadelphia and was a son of the late Francis and Elizabeth Renicker Garrett. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Cecil, Curtis and Orland Garrett; sisters, Viola Corpman, Thelma Menefee, Frances Locker, Arleina Jordan; two grandsons, Joshua Clark and Todd Grove.

He retired in 2010 from the City of New Philadelphia after 21 years of service. Chuck was a former member of the Moose and VFW Clubs in New Philadelphia; he was an avid gardener who loved tinkering in his garage.

Chuck is survived by his wife of almost 30 years, Clara Homan Garrett, whom he married on November 2, 1991; children, Arlena Price of Strasburg, Monica (Buster) Clark, Terri (Randy) Hutchison, Toni Jo Snively, Keith Garrett, Kelly (Mandee) Garrett, Kim (Jeff) Grove all of Uhrichsville, John (Theresa) Garrett, Suzette McGinnis both of Newcomerstown, Steve (Renee) Hess of Florida, Julie Polka, Jamie Garrett both of New Philadelphia; 28 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. There will be no services or calling hours. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of Chuck may do so by visiting the online obituaries link on the funeral home’s website.
