Cathleen A. Bambeck, age 76, of Dover, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 19, 1949, in Steubenville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Agnes (Krayzel) Miceli. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Miceli; sister-in-law, Kay Bambeck; and her dearest friend of more than 50 years, Sandra Rubino.
Cathleen was a 1967 graduate of St. Joseph’s High School and a 1969 graduate of the Mercy School of Radiology. She dedicated 28 years of her career to Tuscarawas Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery, Inc, working for Dr. Powell and Dr. Doan, before retiring. A lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Cathleen lived her life deeply rooted in her faith and her dedication to family. She volunteered her time at TCC Elementary School, St. Joseph Church, and their soup kitchen, always finding ways to serve others with kindness and compassion. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth touched everyone she met. In her spare time, Cathleen enjoyed cooking, reading, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. She was the type of grandmother who would travel hundreds of miles to cheer on her granddaughter at softball games, where she was lovingly known as one of the “elders.” She cherished creating lasting family traditions, including making veal birds, celebrating St. Nicholas Day, wearing matching Christmas pajamas, baking holiday sticky buns, and preparing Easter bread, all of which her family will lovingly continue.
Cathleen is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jack Bambeck, whom she married on November 29, 1969; her children, Jason (Jodi) Bambeck of Dover and Jennifer (Rick) Everett of New Philadelphia; her brother, Larry (Fran) Miceli of California; and her beloved grandchildren, Jackson Bambeck and Estella Everett; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Fr. Jimmy Hatfield officiating. The family will pray the Rosary at 9:30 a.m., with calling hours beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church on Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to TCC Elementary School at 600 North Tuscarawas Ave., Dover, Ohio 44622 or to The Care Team Hospice at 238 Front Ave SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
