Carol A. Staley

May 26, 1946 — Jun 20, 2026

Carol Ann Staley, 80, of Dover, passed away peacefully at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

Born on May 26, 1946, in Dennison, Ohio, Carol was the daughter of the late Charles and Betty (Jones) Ronald. She was a 1964 graduate of Tuscarawas Warwick High School.

On August 13, 1965, Carol married the love of her life, Richard R. "Rick" Staley. Together, they shared nearly 43 years of marriage before Rick's passing on May 18, 2009.

Carol dedicated many years of service to Dover City Schools, where she worked as a Teacher's Aide at South School. She found great joy in supporting students and staff and remained actively involved in the school community throughout the years. Many area families knew Carol as the friendly face taking tickets at countless school sporting events, a role she filled for many years.

A devoted member of the First Moravian Church in Dover, Carol was actively involved in church life, including the annual Chalk Walk. Her faith, kindness, and willingness to serve others were evident in all aspects of her life.

Above all else, Carol cherished her family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and took great pride in attending their school activities, sporting events, and milestones. She treasured the friendships she shared through her card club and regular breakfasts with friends. Carol also looked forward to her many trips to Hilton Head, where she created countless happy memories.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Staley and Bethanie (Mike) Moser; her grandchildren, Chanz (Julie), Katina, Lauren, Tyler, Braxton, and Barrett; her great-granddaughter, Malie; and numerous nieces, nephews, close friends, and neighbors who will miss her dearly.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Rick, Carol was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Ronald and Woody Ronald, and her sister, Cyndi Seward.

A funeral service will be held at the First Moravian Church in Dover on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 11:30 am with Pastor Denny Rohn officiating. Friends are invited to call at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Burial will take place next to Rick at Dover Burial Park. A lunch will be served at the church following the service of committal. To sign an online guestbook for Carol, visit the obituary link on the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory's website.
