Carol A. Lemasters, age 85, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at her home.
Born May 29, 1940, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late George and Carolyn (Jewell) Googash. Carol married the late John Lemasters, and the couple reared four sons. Carol retired from Zimmer Biomet after many years of dedicated service. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling, especially to Yellowstone and spending her winters in Florida, where she loved collecting sea glass. At home, in Ohio, she enjoyed going to the Star Theatre with friends, where she loved seeing live performances and tribute bands.
Carol was known for her quiet strength, steady presence, and deep care for those she loved. She showed her love through consistency, kindness, and simply being there, offering comfort and stability to everyone around her. Her compassion for others was evident in the making of hand knit hats for the homeless and veterans, as well as lap blankets for nursing home residents.
In addition to her husband and parents, Carol was preceded in death by her sons Bruce and Doug; and brother, Steven Googash. She leaves behind her sons Jon and Jeff (Angie) Lemasters; grandchildren Kirstin, Kari-Ann, Ashley, Katie, and Jon; many great grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Susan Googash.
