Bruce D. Simmons, 50, of Beach City, died Friday, November 16, 2001, in Union Hospital following a brief illness.
He had worked as a track burner for Republic Engineered Steels.
Born February 20, 1951 at Morgantown, West Virginia, he was son of Mary J. (Robert) Taylor Bleininger of Florida and the late Herbert W. Simmons.
Bruce was a car enthusiast who enjoyed classic cars and drag racing. He also loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Sparks Simmons whom he wed on July 25, 1992.
Other survivors include: son, Kyle B. Simmons, stepchildren; Anna Harmon and her fiance Henry Fannin, Jericoe Jones, and Carla Cantu, brothers; Marvin & Tyke Simmons, Bradley Simmons, and Douglas and Debra Simmons, and eight grandchildren.
In addition to his father, Bruce was preceded in death by a brother, Steven.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 19, at 1:30pm in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Rev. Kevin Anslow officiating. Cremation will follow services. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-7pm.
