Beulah A. Hensel

July 28, 1938 — January 9, 2024

Strasburg

Beulah A. Hensel, 85, of Strasburg went home to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.  She had battled cancer for 11 years.

She was born on July 28, 1938, in Dundee to the late Algie and Hazel Roush Lewis.  Beulah was also preceded in death by her brother, Gomer Lewis.

Beulah was known for her warm and compassionate personality, always going the extra mile to bring joy to others' lives. One of her greatest pleasures was sending greeting cards for every occasion imaginable. It became her life's ministry to brighten someone's day with a thoughtful message. This small act of kindness touched countless hearts.

Family held a special place in Beulah's heart. Together with her loving husband Bill, she embarked on numerous adventures around the world. Exploring new places and creating beautiful memories was at the core of their relationship. But Beulah adored nothing more than spending quality time with her family at Disney parks and taking her grandchildren to Tuscora Park when they were young. These moments were filled with laughter, joy, and boundless love.

Faith played a significant role in Beulah's life, as she was an active member of St. John United Church of Christ in Strasburg. Her devotion was evident through her involvement within the church community; she served as president of the church council, taught Sunday school, and selflessly contributed to the hospitality committee. Beulah's faith provided solace during challenging times, and inspired those around her.

She was a proud graduate of Strasburg High School's class of 1956.  One accomplishment that brought Beulah immense pride was being a lifelong Strasburg Tiger and strong supporter of the school. She loved attending all sporting events, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand by generously donating to any school project. Her commitment to the betterment of the community will not be forgotten.

Beulah is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Bill Hensel, whom she married on May 4, 1958. She is also survived by her loving children, Brinda (Todd) Grimm of Michigan and Bethany (Tony) Vallos of North Canton. Beulah's sisters, Dorothy (Tom) Tonn of Massillon and Gloria (Bob) Wentling of Navarre; grandchildren, Nate (Daniella) Grimm, Josiah Grimm, John Vallos, and Victoria Vallos and two great-grandchildren, Jurden and Willard.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 13th starting at 11:00 am in the St. John United Church of Christ, Strasburg with Rev. Jason Rissler officiating.  Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg.  The family will be greeting friends at the church on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Beulah's honor to St. John United Church of Christ at 516 North Wooster Ave., Strasburg, Ohio 44680.
