Betty J. Wertz

Betty J. Wertz, 93, of New Philadelphia died Monday, February 3, 2014 in the Community Hospice House.

Born February 17, 1920 in Dover she was a daughter of the late Frank "Roy" and Eda Houk Cox. Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin E. Wertz on October 15, 2013; sisters, Ethel Cox, Dorothy Gordon and Catherine Schwartz; brother, Virgil Cox.

A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, Betty enjoyed raising her family as well as, spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. She was also a devoted member of Ruslin Hills Church.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Pat (Jerry) Rufener of New Philadelphia and Cindy (Jack) Arbogast of Bolivar; grandchildren, Scott and Brian Rufener, Kelly (Josh) Gintz and Holly Arbogast and two great grandchildren, Scott II and Cody Rufener.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 6 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Duane L. Houser officiating. Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover. Friends can call in the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-7 pm.
