Barbara J. Shriver

Barbara J. Shriver, 93, of Tuscarawas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Inn at Northwood, Dover.

Born on December 15, 1932, in Sharon, Ohio, Barbara was the daughter of the late Byron and Bernice Murrey Marquis. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dale Shriver, on December 21, 2014, and by her sisters: Irene, Gertrude, Edna, and Virginia.

Barbara was a devoted and active member of the Sharon Moravian Church. She participated in the Sharon Moravian Women’s Fellowship, the Martha Housman Circle, and Ladies Aid, and served as a Deiner for the church. She also worked as secretary for the Tuscarawas-Warwick Senior Citizens. Barbara found great joy in quilting and especially cherished the many travels she shared with her husband Dale.

She is survived by her children, Dean Shriver (companion, Tracie Burton) of Zanesville and Pamela Shriver (husband, Tony Saens) of Oregon; sister, Beverly Watson of Alliance; grandchildren, Ashley Shriver, Tom (Michelle) Shriver, Tiffany Berglund, and Anessa (Kevin) Coffman; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 28th, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover. Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 29th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Sharon Church Cemetery, with Rev. Denny Rohn officiating.
