Austin Michael Lee Waldren, age 18, beloved son, friend, and promising student passed away tragically on September 19, 2024, due to injuries sustained from an auto accident.
Born on June 20, 2006, he was the son of Derrick Waldren of New Philadelphia and Michelle Phillips.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Emmett (Irene) Basiletti, with whom he was very close; along with his beloved cat, Sola.
In addition to his parents, he leaves behind his sister; Sunceya Murphy of Canton, Ohio; brother, Cody Waldren of New Philadelphia; nephew, Emmett Wagner of Canton; uncle, Doug (Bekky) Waldren of New Philadelphia; paternal grandmother, Dianna Waldren of New Philadelphia; paternal grandfather, David Waldren of Canton; his cousins, Carter and Bailey Waldren of New Philadelphia; along with several other extended family members.
Austin attended Indian Valley High School and was actively engaged at Buckeye Career Center, where he pursued his Line Utility Certification.
Austin was working at Little Caesars Pizza in New Philadelphia. He enjoyed fishing, immersing himself in music, and playing video games. In his younger years, he played baseball and basketball.
Austin loved shoes and enjoyed collecting both Hey Dudes and Jordans. His collection not only reflected his personality but also became a conversation starter among friends.
Visitation will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on September 26, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on September 27, 2024, at 1:00 PM with Corey McNutt officiating.
