Ann Elizabeth Altier

Ann Elizabeth Altier passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Hennis Care Center in Bolivar.

Born and raised in Dennison, Ann was a 1966 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School. On January 16, 1971, she married the love of her life, David M. Altier. Together they shared many happy years until David's passing on December 19, 2015.

Ann dedicated her career to the banking industry, where she was known for her professionalism and warm, welcoming personality. She retired after many years of service as a New Accounts Specialist with Surety Savings & Loan and later Central Trust-Bank One.

A faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Philadelphia, Ann found joy in her faith, her family, and the simple pleasure of reading. She will be remembered for her quiet strength, kind heart, and the love she shared with those closest to her.

Ann loved all things Disney and found great joy in its magic, characters, and vacations. More than anything, she was incredibly proud of her grandchildren and cherished opportunities to support them. She enjoyed attending their school events, cheering from the sidelines at sporting activities, and celebrating their accomplishments. Her devotion to her family and her enthusiasm for the things she loved created lasting memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving son, Michael D. (Sara) Altier of Hilliard; her cherished grandchildren, Nathan Altier (Mylika Wade) of Cincinnati, Alex Altier of Indianapolis, and Tyler Altier of Hilliard; beloved her sister, Carol (John) Anderson; her dear sister-in-law, Barb Nelson; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, David, Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Gary Nelson; and her infant sister, Karen Nelson.

Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Wednesday. August 12, 2026, from 5-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 10:00 am with Father Jeff Coning officiating.
