Angeline N. Festi, 94, formerly of Dover, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Bickford Assisted Living in Worthington, Ohio.
Born in Lisbon, Ohio on March 9, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Anthony C. and Mary Rose (Vechione) Battalio. Angeline graduated from New Philadelphia High School in the Class of 1949. On October 29, 1949, she married the love of her life, Frank L. Festi, who preceded her in death on April 28, 2015.
In addition to her parents and Frank, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Anthony (Mary Jane) Battalio, Alfred Battalio, John Battalio, Thomas Battalio, and Albert Battalio; along with her sisters, Lena (Clarence) Callahan, Phyllis (Don) Garner, Josephine (John) Batcha, Mary (Louis) Marinelli, Rose (Frank) Chini, and Helen (Robert) Smith.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother (Nana), Angeline dedicated her life to caring for her family and her community. She was a homemaker and worked for 18 years in the cafeteria at Dover Avenue Elementary, where she was fondly remembered by students and staff alike. She was an accomplished cook whose culinary creations were enjoyed by her family and many friends.
Angeline was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover. She was also a member of the Dover St Joseph and Tuscarawas Central Catholic Mother’s Clubs for many years. Angeline’s greatest joy was spending time with family and maintaining long-lasting friendships. Angeline was loving, kind, and generous, and had an unwavering faith that touched all who knew her.
She leaves behind and will be missed by her children: Brenda (Dr. Randall) Hastedt of Worthington, Frank (Spring) Festi of Medina, and Thomas (Lisa) Festi of Powell; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Andrew) Kistler, David (Debbie) Hastedt, Alison (Sean) Miller, Tiffany (Brendan) Barker, Mark Festi, Sarah Festi, and Lauren Festi; eleven great-grandchildren; her brother in-law, John Festi; along with many nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 9-10:30 a.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Father Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery in Dover. A meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center in Dover following the service.
