Amy O. Abbuhl, age 92, of New Philadelphia, entered into the glory of God, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
Born on September 20, 1933, in Clay County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late James and Blanche (Truman) Cottrell. Amy attended school in Clay County and moved to Ohio at the young age of 17. She wed Larry D. Abbuhl on June 25, 1966. The couple shared 30 years of marriage before Larry’s passing on December 8, 1996. Foremost, Amy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and was employed by Dover Molded Products for 26 years before retiring from there.
She was a long-time, faithful member of Lake Drive Fellowship in Mineral City (New Cumberland), and loved singing gospel music. Additionally, Amy liked to garden, kept busy doing various crafts, and almost always had a supply of old-fashioned MoonPies on hand.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Nyoka (Bob Rust) Lewis of Stone Creek, and Faye (Jennings) Campbell of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Amy Baum, Jennifer Clarke, Rachel and Sarah Campbell; her great-grandchildren, Nyoka Clarke, Destiny Campbell, Mya Lewis, Gabe Campbell, and Rick James; her sister, Nina (Arthur) Chapman; and her nieces and nephews, including Kathy (Russ) Metzger.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Larry, Amy was preceded in death by her son, Charles Frame; her grandson, J.C. Campbell; her sisters, Marie Taylor, Birdie, and Ann Pyle; and her brothers, Bob, Brooks and Arnold Cottrell.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Monday, October 20, 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1:30, officiated by Amy’s friend, Mary Roark. Burial will be in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens, Dover.
