Alvin "Indian" Huston

Alvin “Indian” Huston, 79, of Dover passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026 in the McKinley Healthcare Center in Canton.

He was born on January 31, 1946 in Newcomerstown and was a son of the late Alvin and Mary Annabelle Huston. Alvin was also preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Whitacre; second wife, Maryann Huston; son, Alvin Huston Jr.; and his sister, Jessie Wigfield.

Alvin proudly served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Army. Following his discharge, he was employed in the construction trade for many years.

He is survived by his children, Mary (Robert) Hawkins of Dover, Tony (Martha) Huston of Georgia; sister, Evelyn Sharrock of Pataskala; 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A celebration of Alvin’s life will be held at a later date.
