Wilma V. Uppstrom

Wilma V. Uppstrom, 88, formerly of Walnut St., Dover, Ohio died Thursday, November 8, 2007 in the Park Village Health Care Center following complications from a long battle with Alzheimers Disease.

Born March 11, 1919 in Dover, Wilma was the daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (Springer) Rufener.

She was a longtime member of the St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ in Dover. She was a 39 year member of the Tuscarawas County YMCA where she enjoyed badminton and swimming. Wilma was a homemaker and loved sewing, quilting, and crocheting. For many years, she was the bookkeeper for the family business, Lee Freight Lines.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ivor “Swede” Uppstrom who died April 5, 1998. She was also preceded by two sons in laws, Jerry Hinson and John W. Miller, a brother, Elwood Rufener and a sister, Norma Waldenmyer.

She is survived by four daughters, Lynne (George) Telle, Sue Miller, Kay (Larry) Whitlach all of Dover and Denise Uppstrom of San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren Tammy (Dale) Dulaney, Sally Hinson, John (Marcia) Miller Jr., Cindy (Steve) Forney, Matthew (Mandy) Miller, Brian (Marsha) Whitlach and Adam Whitlach; eight great grandchildren, Jeremy Hinson, Makayla, Makenzie, Megan and Morgan Miller, Ethan Forney, Madison Miller, and Kaelli Whitlach; a sister in law, Loey Rufener of Dover along with five step grandchildren, twenty three step great grandchildren, and two step great great grandchildren.

A funeral service celebrating Wilma�(TM)s life will be held Monday, November 12, 2007 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Rev. Michael Lowry officiating. A private service will be held Tuesday in the Garden of Peace Mausoleum at Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5pm.
