Wilma E. Aubihl

Wilma E. (Wendling) Aubihl, 94, of Dover, Ohio died Wednesday, June 20, 2007 in her home.

Born March 19, 1913 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Etta Dickey Handrich.

She was an employee of the former F.W. Woolworth Company in Dover and had previously worked at the former Delphian Motor Inn in New Philadelphia and the former Sadiron plant.

Wilma was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Wendling who died in 1983. She was also preceded in death by her son, Donald “Sonny” Wendling, a son in law, Dick Walker, a stepdaughter, Mary Sweitzer, and three brothers, George, Raymond, and Dale Handrich.

She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Dover and it�(TM)s Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Pythian Sisters, and life member of the Dover VFW. She was a longtime volunteer at Union Hospital. She was formerly an avid bowler where she bowled in several leagues. She also enjoyed ceramics and knitting.

Wilma is survived by her husband, George Aubihl with whom she celebrated 22 years of marriage on January 6; two daughters, Donna Walker of Dover and Marilyn (Ted) Valentine of Strasburg; a daughter in law, Edith Wendling of New Philadelphia; three stepchildren, Liz (Terry) Miller of Strasburg, Sarah (Steve) McIlvaine of Wadsworth and Dan (Sherry) Aubihl of Ragersville; one sister, Anna Abel of Bolivar; four sisters in law, Ida Handrich, Gweneth Shively, Betty Kappler and Joan Heinle along with eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Pastor Jim Lewis officiating. Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. A reception will follow in Luther Hall at the Grace Lutheran Church in Dover. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-6pm.
