William E. "Bill" Or "Buzz" Duncan

William E. “Bill” or “Buzz” Duncan, age, 68, of Mineral City, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018, in Aultman Hospital, Canton.

Born March 30,1950, in Dover, he was a son of Anna Lou Berndt Duncan of New Philadelphia and the late William R. Duncan. Bill graduated in 1970 from Indian Valley North High School, and went on to serve honorably with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, much of that time aboard the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. America. Following his discharge, Bill was employed for many years by Union Camp Corporation, Dover, and its successor, Arizona Chemical.

He was a member of Tabor Ridge Community Church, Mineral City. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, particularly camping, fishing and boating. He liked working with wood, was an excellent cook and enjoyed kidding with family and friends. Bill also was a great fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Browns.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Harriett Patrick Duncan, whom he married on Valentine’s Day 1998; his daughters, Nannette Duncan of San Diego, California, Michelle Duncan of Miami, Florida, and Sarah Duncan of Cleveland; his step-daughter, Becky (Jeff) Sharp of New Philadelphia; his grandchildren, Kelsey and Lucas Sharp; his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his father, Bill was preceded in death by two infant sisters; and his brother, Timothy A. Duncan.

A funeral service will be held Monday, October 1, at 11 a.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with Pastor John Dunn officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be in New Cumberland Cemetery. Following the committal, there will be a lunch in the Tabor Ridge Community Church.
