Wava Marjean Demuth

Wava Marjean Demuth, 83, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, November 17, 2009, in Union Hospital following a brief illness.

Born, March 23, 1926, in Canal Fulton, she was a daughter of the late Simon and Rachel Seward Burson . Marjean was a loving homemaker, whose life revolved around her family. She enjoyed dancing, knitting, crocheting and all good things involving those whom she loved. Marjean was employed by General Electric, Sparta Manufacturing, and lastly by Eureka Machine Shop, a business she owned and operated with her late husband, William W. "Bill" Demuth.

She had attended the First Lutheran Church in Strasburg, Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Philadelphia, and First Lutheran Church in Beach City. Marjean was a member of the Lady Eagles, Women of the Moose, as well as the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, all of New Philadelphia.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra (Harvey) Lipps of Coshocton; three grandchildren, Tom Lindberg of New Philadelphia, John (Elizabeth) Lindberg of Kingwood, Texas, and Samantha (Shane) Guilliams of Warsaw; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Billie Forte of Texarkana, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marjean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill; a grandson, Harvey Lipps, Jr.; a great-grandson, Bryce Guilliams; two sisters, Margaret Smith and Charlotte Linard; and by two brothers, Samuel and Walter Burson.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 21, at 11 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with Pastor Steve Patrick of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Philadelphia officiating. Burial will be in Dover Burial Park.
