Virginia A. Zeigler

Virginia Audrey Zeigler, 86, of Dover, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004 in Union Hospital.

Born February 6, 1918 at Sandyville, she was the daughter of the late Frederick John and Nora Ethel Underwood Gross.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and had a unique collection of toys and Betty Boop collectables that she enjoyed sharing with them, as well as her family and friends. Over the years Virginia had been active in the ladies auxiliaries of the Dover VFW, Army-Navy, Moose and Eagles clubs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester H. Zeigler, who died on January 25, 1982.

Survivors include: four children, Nancy (Ray) Ott of Massillon, Donna (Charles) Hilton of Bolivar, Katherine (Robert) Decker and John (Mary) Zeigler both of New Philadelphia; 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by: four sons, Charles J. “Sonny,” Lester F. “Bud,” James and Larry A; two sisters five brothers and one great grandchild.

A funeral service that celebrates her life will be conducted Friday, May 28, at 11:00 a.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park with a reception immediately following the burial in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.

Friends may call in the funeral home on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday one hour prior to services.
