Thurman E. ''Wink'' Winkler

Thurman E. ''Wink'' Winkler, 77, of Loudonville and formerly of Wadsworth and Dover died Monday, April 30, 2001 at his home following an extended illness.

He retired in 1975 from Babcock & Wilcox at Barberton after 28 years of service. Following retirement he enjoyed farming.

Born March 20, 1924 in Dover he was a son of the late Albert S. and Edna Prysi Winkler.

He was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Doylestown, Wadsworth Lodge #385 F&AM, 4-H advisor and Zoning Inspector in Loudonville. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II and was an avid photographer having served as a Navy Photographer during the war.

Thurman is survived by his wife Elsie Wallsten Winkler with whom he would have celebrated 56 years of marriage on May 13, 2001.

He is survived by a daughter: Karen and Brian Cave of Zoar.

Son: Karl and Debbie Winkler of Uniontown.

Seven grandchildren: Elsa, Sarah, Brian Jr., Chris, Lindsey, Jessica and Nicholas.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Norman and Howard Winkler.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2001 at 1:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Lloyd Miller officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6-8 pm with Masonic Services starting at 6:45.
