Thomas L. Everett

Thomas L. “Tom” Everett, 83, of Dover died Sunday, October 21, 2007 at the Hennis Care Centre at Dover following an extended illness.

Born January 23, 1924 in Gnadenhutten he was a son of the late Floyd and Laura Rank Everett. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Emery and Foster Everett and a sister, Annabelle Stevenson.

Tom served God his entire life and was active with the Foursquare Gospel Church in Dover. He served as the Sunday school Superintendent for almost 25 years and was also on the church board, all while working his large dairy farm. He never missed church on Sunday morning, Sunday night or the Wednesday night service. Tom left farming in 1965 and was employed with the Ohio Department of Transportation having retired in 1993. During his retirement he enjoyed playing Rook and Jass at the Senior Center.

Tom is survived by the love of his life, I. Willodean Meldrum Everett whom he married on August 5, 1945. He is also survived by three daughters, Laura Everett of Canton, Linda (Brad) Blackburn of Toledo and Patty (Phillip) Farr of California; son, Randy Everett of Columbus; brother, Eugene (Wilma) Everett of Gnadenhutten; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 11:00 am in the Foursquare Gospel Church at Dover with Rev. Ron May officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover on Tuesday from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to the service at the church.
