Susan M. Woodard

Susan M. Woodard, 83, of Dover died Sunday, April 2, 2000 at the Hennis Care Centre following an extended illness.

She was an Elementary Teacher having retired from Dover Ave. Elementary School after 20 years of service.

Born February 21, 1917 in Uhrichsville she was a daughter of the late Desmond and Hazel Freeman Cooper.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Dover, Mary-Hannah Circle, United Methodist Women, T4C, Literary Club of Dover, Atwood Yacht Club, Tuscarawas Senior Citizens, Salvation Army Aux. and Who's Who of American Women. She was also a former member of the Quest Club in Uhrichsville and participated in many Share a Christmas' and United Way Drives. She was a 1935 graduate of Uhrichsville High School and a 1937 graduate of Muskingum College.

Susan is survived by her husband, Atty. John L. Woodard, with whom she would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on August 10, 2000.

She is also survived by a son: Jack L. Woodard of Columbus.

Daughter: Marsha S. and Phil Daniels of Gahanna

Brother: William and Ada Cooper of Dover

Four grandchildren: Mark and Ariel Daniels of Columbus
Corey, Brian and Erin Daniels of Gahanna

Nephew: Robert Huffman of Dublin

Sister-in-law: Libby and Paul Stearns of Pickerington

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister: Helen Huffman

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2000 at 11:00 am in the First United Methodist Church at Dover with Rev. James Scott officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
