Shirley J. Hostetler

Shirley J. Hostetler, 83, of Strasburg died Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in the Affinity Medical Center at Massillon.

Born June 14, 1932 in Stockport, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Elwood and Lucille White Hilaman. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Sheldon and Stanley Hilaman.

Shirley was a faithful member of the First Lutheran Church in Strasburg where she served on various committees and clubs throughout the years. When her children were in school, she was active with the Strasburg Mothers Club. Shirley enjoyed collecting antique jewelry, Burmese glassware, cooking and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

A wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother Shirley will be sadly missed by her husband of 58 years, Dallas W. Hostetler whom she married on April 28, 1957; children, Connie (Jim) Hershberger of Sugarcreek, Cindy Hostetler of Lewis Center, Wayne (Jeanne) Hostetler of Dalton and Janet (David) Muckley of Green; grandchildren, Stacy, Janelle, Karissa, Melanie, Jessica, Rebecca and Jaret; 12 great grandchildren and her sister, Joyce Veitinger.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 11 at 11:00 am in the First Lutheran Church at Strasburg with Pastor Karen Biggerstaff officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Thursday from 4-7 pm.
